- To encourage the accurate and objective development of scientific manuscripts or abstracts based on data gathered from the Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS).
- To ensure and expedite the timely publication and presentation to the scientific community of all pertinent CHS data.
- To prevent overlap of content across papers, and to ensure investigators adhere to the aims outlined in their proposal.
- To ensure that all investigators, particularly those of junior rank, have the opportunity to participate and be recognized in study-wide CHS papers.
- To ensure that the CHS Steering Committee and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) are able to carry out the timely review of CHS publications and presentations.
- To maintain and post a complete and up-to-date list of CHS publications and abstracts.
